PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear School Community,
Term 3 has started and we have just left the first three weeks behind. At Sirius College, we aim to address different needs of our students such as social, emotional and physical needs. To improve our students’ physical skills, we have organised different sports for primary classrooms this term. Preps, Gr1s and Gr2s are doing gymnastics at Jet’s Gymnastics on Mondays. Gr3 and Gr4 are improving their badminton skills at the basketball stadium, Numurkah Rd. Gr5s and Gr6s are enjoying cycling and joining in with other local schools in the winter sports. If you would like to observe your child perform in these sports, you are welcome to come along and watch.
During the past three weeks, thanks to the team of visiting psychologists and our campus counsellor, we have finalized the assessments for some students and sessions for speech therapy will start soon. Last week some Grade 1, 5 and 6 students had eye tests from Graham Hill Eye Care and other grades will be completed in the next term. The dental check-ups will be also offered to our students later in this term.
The School Concert is one of the highlights of this term. Our students will showcase their talents on stage. The invitations will be sent out soon. However, I just want you to save the date so that you will not miss it. The ceremony will start at 6:45 pm at Eastbank Centre on Thursday, September 14.
I also want to share some of the events/activities planned for this Term. We will be delighted to see you at any of the programs below.
